Getting started
Who can open an account?
Anyone aged 18 or over who lives in a country we serve and can complete identity verification. Some countries are excluded for regulatory reasons, and our team reviews every application before the account opens.
Why do you need to verify my identity?
Verification protects your account and is required by anti-money-laundering rules. It takes a few minutes: an ID document and a short selfie check. Higher verification tiers unlock higher deposit and withdrawal limits.
How much do I need to start?
There is no account minimum. Each strategy sets its own minimum allocation, shown on its page, from 100 USD. We suggest starting with an amount you are comfortable losing while you learn how a strategy behaves.
Payments and withdrawals
Which deposit methods can I use?
Bank transfer and crypto, depending on the currency. The bank details and deposit addresses to use are shown in your account, with any fee and limits, and your account manager can help with anything else. Funds are credited once they are received and confirmed.
How long do withdrawals take?
Most withdrawals are paid within one business day, only to a destination account in your name that our team has registered for you. Larger or unusual withdrawals are reviewed by a second member of staff first. You can follow each step on the withdrawal’s timeline, and write to support@velocryptocurrency.com if anything looks wrong.
Strategies and copy trading
What is the difference between allocating and copying?
Allocating buys units in a pooled strategy at its NAV per unit, priced at a daily dealing run. Copying opens a follower account in your name that mirrors a trader’s positions in proportion to your allocation, with your own multiplier, exposure caps and drawdown stop. See how it works for the details.
How are the performance figures calculated?
Returns are time-weighted from daily NAV closes; drawdown is measured peak to trough on those closes; volatility and Sharpe ratio are annualised from daily returns. Each strategy page shows the exact basis beside the figures. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.
Can I stop copying or redeem whenever I like?
You can pause or stop copying at any time and choose whether to close the copied positions or keep them. Managed strategies may have a lock-up or notice period, stated on the strategy page before you allocate; redemptions are priced at the next dealing run after those terms are met.
